The Simple Pump™ Hand-Operated Water Pump

Backup or primary.

Pump from 350' water level.

So easy to use, a child can pump up to 5 gallons per minute...

So durable, it has a 50-year lifespan...

So affordable, you can install it anywhere you need safe drinking water...

Many people find this feature compelling — just knowing it's there, whether or not they ever use it...

IF, at some point in the future, you wanted to have a motorized Simple Pump, you just do a quick and easy conversion (approx 10 mins) with the Motor Extension Kit. You don't have to buy a whole new pump. AND if you then have an emergency with the motor, you can switch back to hand-operation, again in only about ten minutes! No other hand pump offers this hand-motor-hand conversion option.

Additional Advantages

Or an irrigation system. With our check valve to prevent kickback on the handle, you can easily pump into a pressurized plumbing system.

Standard 24-inch handle
With the standard 24" handle, this hand-operated Simple Pump requires such little force to operate, it easily pumps 5 gallons per minute from depths up to about 300 feet - AND CAN PUMP RIGHT INTO YOUR PRESSURIZED HOUSEHOLD PLUMBING.

Go Deeper with the optional 36-inch handle
Tested on a 120-foot deep well with 70 foot static water level, the 36" handle decreased the required pumping force from 8 lbs to 4. This decreased effort means you can pump more easily from further down - from 350 feet!

[Note: These depth figures are for water delivered at the pump head. If you are pumping (for example) fifty feet uphill to your house, the required force for that part will decrease the depth below ground from which you can pump.]

Two-thirds of our clients install their pump, themselves. It's easier than you might think, with our installation documents and videos, and with phone assistance available. The other third use a professional installer.

Amazed neighbour pumping water in feet of snow.FREEZE-PROOF

The Simple Pump is freeze-proof with a 1/16" weep hole drilled at 48 inches from the top fitting. (And if that is not deep enough for your area, we'll do a custom weep hole further down, at no charge.)

Water bleeds back down below the frost line when the pump is not in use. We have many pumps in northern Canadian provinces, Alaska and the northern states in the USA without any freeze issues --- operating 24/7 without difficulty, even in high-wind, freezing temperatures reaching -30°F.

Maintenance normally required once every five years, at a cost of just $20 - $25 for seals.

The pump has a 50-year useful life, and comes with a 5-year parts guarantee. Aircraft-grade stainless steel and aluminum are computer machined from billets of metal for maximum precision (much stronger than cast iron or aluminum). Because the parts fit together so precisely, wear is greately reduced. Graphite-impregnated bronze bushings at the three pump-head pivot points add outstanding durability.

Precision plus the best materials equals extraordinary reliability, AND also gives you high efficiency with low effort.

The only metal making contact with the water is completely lead-free, CNC-machined stainless steel. And all components are Safe Drinking Water Act compliant.

If you are away from your property, for stretches of time, you can remove the pump lever and lower the pump head, leaving your pump inconspicuous and protected (as shown to the right).

We understand it's crucial a pump works when you need it

We took all the benefits of traditional hand pumps - and improved them. Then we took all the disadvantages - and got rid of them.

The result... an incredibly durable and efficient water pump that lasts for generations.
